About

Hello!

A lot of people have questioned the name of the blog: Cinnamon Spring. “Why it?” they ask.

I started this blog during my 4th year in the UK, while I was in the Bar Professional Training Course. It was a difficult time for me at the time, even more so because it was really challenging mentally and physically.Β Law is not my best forte, I freely admit.

I missed home a lot then (I normally am quite adaptable) and wanted to give up many times. So much so that whenever I walked past a bakery, or a pretzel stall, the waft of warm cinnamon in the cool air always reminded me of home. Especially of my mom, who used cinnamon in her cooking and baking. It always made me smile.

Of course things gotΒ better, as they never stay bad for too long. A new and fresh start, another adventure. Just like the break of Spring, awakening from Winter’s deep slumber and gloom. I passed my Bar, completed pupillage and currently am a practising lawyer. God truly has been with me every step of the way.

I needed an outlet to spur my creativity, and this blog was perfect for it. I wouldn’t call myself a creative, as I find that anything can be done with a little inspiration, practice and determination. Which means anyone can do it! Therefore, with my easy DIY tutorials, I hope you can begin your DIY journey as well and spur your own creativity!

This blog is not a personal blog, and I try not to write about any negativity. This world has too many ills and I feel that it is best to be positive, positive, positive! ;) Before you go, I’d like to thank youΒ so much for dropping by and even popping a comment! I really appreciate it x

  1. Hi there! So glad I could meet you at WFBC – such a lovely place for us WordPress bloggers. Thank you for following me here. Just saw front page post, and I am loving those nails. Too bad I can’t grow mine for now. Having shorter nails and no manicure maintenance for me right now, seems like the best idea.

    Keep smiling!

      • Thanks! and thank goodness to this online app I used for that, otherwise it would have been impossible. I love blog reading, and yours is so fun to read! Love your style. :-)

    • Aww thanks Donah this is very unexpected there were so many great entries!! I can’t wait to try out Suti’s skincare range – I definitely need it for this hot and humid weather back home! I’ve filled in your Contact Form on your page so do let me know if you’ve got it! Thank you again and have a fabulous weekend!! :D

  2. Hey :)
I’m visiting borneo this summer (around end of june beginning of july). I am very excited but I have absolutely no idea what to wear! I am finding it very difficult to decide on the right clothes since the weather in the rainforest is so changeable! I’d really appreciate if you could give me some pointers on how to dress appropriate to the climate but still stay fashionable at the same time! I recently discovered your blog by the way and I really love it! I will definitely be recommending it to a few friends :)
    Thanks!

    • Ahhh that’s amazing!! Where to in Borneo will you be going?? The summer you arrive, the weather is quite dry since it wouldn’t be the monsoon season so it’s the perfect time! It’s very humid, so bring lots of cotton tops. However, shorts, tank tops, summer dresses are just fine :) Flip flops too! However if you are going to be trekking in the rainforest, a shirt, proper shoes and long pants will suffice. I normally trek in shorts, tank tops though! Bring insect repellant and sunscreen :)
